After graduating with honors from the University of Wisconsin’s Creative Writing Program, David moved to L.A. to pursue life as a screenwriter. In fact, a year of his life was chronicled in the documentary Dreams on Spec. And that documentary happened to capture the period of his career where his screenplay, Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, was sold and made into an award-winning horror satire feature film. He is an in-the-trenches, climbing-the-ladder writer in Hollywood who offers some sage, practical advice to aspiring writers and, really, anyone taking the chance to follow their dream.
